A Message from our Founder & CEO, Jared Coseglia:

Why We’re Launching D3—and Why It Matters Right Now

For more than fifteen years, my work—and TruLegal’s work—has revolved around one central belief: the legal industry moves forward when the right people are given visibility, access, and a seat at the table.

That belief is what led us to launch D3: Dinner. Discourse. Demos.

D3 isn’t a conference. It isn’t a pitch fest. And it definitely isn’t another overcrowded legal tech event where meaningful conversation gets lost in noise. It’s intentionally small, intentionally personal, and intentionally focused on something the legal industry still struggles to do well: listening to builders who are changing how legal work gets done.

Specifically, women who are doing exactly that.

The Real Gap We’re Trying to Close

At TruLegal, we spend every day advising law firms, corporate legal departments, and legal operations leaders on talent, technology, and transformation. We also spend a lot of time talking to founders—especially early-stage founders—who are building genuinely useful legal tech but don’t always get the airtime they deserve.

Here’s the disconnect we kept seeing:

    • Legal leaders want practical, usable technology
    • Founders want direct access to real decision-makers
    • Everyone wants less noise and more substance

That’s how D3 was born.

Three Founders. Three Verticals. Three Evenings That Actually Matter.

The 2026 D3 Series will spotlight three women-owned and operated, AI-enabled legal technology startups, each working in a different but critically important area of the legal ecosystem:

    • AI Governance
    • Discovery strategy
    • Contracts Data

The founders we’re featuring are:

Collectively, they represent some of the sharpest minds in legal technology today. Individually, they’re building tools that are both holistically disruptive and practically adoptable—a balance that is much harder to strike than most people realize.

What Happens at a D3 Dinner

Each D3 evening follows the same simple structure:

    • A deep dive into the technology
Not a sales pitch. A real explanation of the problem being solved and how the solution works.
    • Dinner and discourse
Open, candid conversation with the founder, legal leaders in the room, and TruLegal’s leadership and partnership team.
    • Market perspective
We share what we’re seeing across the legal job market—data, trends, and insights that help attendees contextualize technology decisions inside broader workforce realities.

Why Women-Owned Legal Tech Deserves the Spotlight

TruLegal has always been in the business of elevating talent—often before the market fully recognizes its value. Extending that mission to early-stage startups led by women felt not only natural, but necessary.

Women founders in legal tech still face disproportionate barriers to funding, visibility, and enterprise adoption—despite consistently building some of the most thoughtful, user-centric solutions in the market.

D3 is our way of saying:
These voices deserve to be heard. These tools deserve serious consideration. And these conversations deserve better venues than a noisy expo hall.

This Is About What Comes Next

The legal industry is at an inflection point. Cost pressure isn’t going away. AI isn’t slowing down. And the expectations placed on legal teams are only increasing.

What can change—right now—is how we engage with innovation.

D3 is an experiment in slowing things down just enough to have the conversations that move the industry forward.

If you’re a legal leader who values substance over spectacle, this series was designed with you in mind.

Space is intentionally limited.
