Relativity aiR’s adoption across all verticals (in-house counsel, outside counsel, and vendors) is gaining momentum and triggering accelerated demand for experienced professionals who have demonstrated capabilities in Relativity aiR consultation, implementation, and configuration.
Unlike during the rise of TAR—when Relativity developed specific certifications for Analytics and Assisted Review, which gave hiring managers direct validation of corresponding skill sets—Relativity will not be offering a separate certification for aiR. Instead, changes related to its technology and AI/aiR will be systemically integrated throughout the Relativity certification ecosystem.
This means hiring managers who are looking for proven aiR talent are leaning into the trusted validation of recently accredited RCA/Relativity Certified Administrators—which are new, improved, and inclusive of aiR.
Over the next 12 months, eDiscovery professionals would be wise to certify, recertify, and stretch themselves to achieve Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) status. As more law firms and vendors leverage the power of AI in Relativity aiR, certification from Relativity will carry tremendous weight in both opening doors to new opportunities and negotiating higher compensation.
Even if you are not changing employers, having your RCA will distinguish you internally and empower you to speak credibly about generative AI capabilities to decision-makers. At TruLegal, we are already seeing compensation increases of 15–35% for candidates who have a year or more of demonstrated expertise using aiR, with the higher end going almost exclusively to candidates with an RCA.
Simple: 95% of our customers require TruLegal’s Relativity self-assessment to accompany a resume when submitting a job application. TruLegal has worked directly with Danielle Urban, Senior Manager of Certification at Relativity, to provide a 65-checkpoint self-assessment that allows job seekers to articulate, with nuance, their level of confidence—from entry level to expert—in all elements TruLegal and Relativity deem necessary for Relativity skill assessment. This tool has been used by TruLegal customers for almost a decade, and over 7,000 applicants have completed this self-assessment during that time (check out our reporting over the years on the analysis of the job market through the lens of the data collected from these assessments).
Have you? And if so, how long ago?
We have an updated Relativity Self-Assessment out now—with aiR baked in!
If you’re an eDiscovery professional and haven’t completed a self-assessment with TruLegal, do so today. Even if you’re not actively looking for work, this assessment will help you understand how to compete in the future state of the eDiscovery job market, where Relativity skills are in high demand.
